A Joke Destroyed My Child

Hayley's marriage to Ryan is upended by an annual April Fools' dare he shares with his childhood sweetheart, Summer. This year, the prank leads Hayley to sign an annulment, and Ryan weds Summer. While grieving the loss of her baby through miscarriage, Hayley is abandoned by Ryan and left to rebuild alone. She reclaims her copyrights and strikes out independently, and her career takes off. Ryan, facing a collapsing company, repents and publicly confesses. As another April Fools' Day arrives, Summer attacks with a knife, prompting Ryan to say "this time I lost" as Summer breaks down crying.
