Altarboy

Theo Martin is barely eighteen when his father sends him to a Catholic church after rejecting him for being gay. He has been hoping to escape his repressive town, but danger finds him first: an attack in an alley leaves him needing help. Father Alexander, a young priest, intervenes and brings Theo into the church. Instead of an easy refuge, Theo faces a tense new arrangement. He is expected to serve as Alexander’s altar boy, while the two clash over rules, personal boundaries and feelings neither can openly acknowledge. Theo’s determination pushes against Alexander’s authority, and the church’s moral expectations make every exchange more complicated. As attraction grows beneath their hostility, both must confront a secret that threatens the roles they have been given - and what they believe they are allowed to want.
