Elliot needs money for tuition, so he enters a couples’ esports tournament and is paired with PhoenixKnight, a mysterious ace. Their arrangement requires them to pose as a couple, while playful exchanges in the game begin to blur the line between competition and attraction. In everyday life, however, Elliot clashes with a teaching assistant he cannot stand, unaware that this person is the player behind PhoenixKnight. Misunderstandings and the pressure of competition keep their online connection and real-world encounters at odds. As Elliot works toward his goal, the two are pushed to confront the gap between what they show and who they really are. The championship night brings the identity reveal and forces their tangled feelings into the open.
